A bachelor degree with a 2:2 (hons) in engineering, management or related disciplines. IELTS 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0.

Our course combines leadership and management principles, with a strong emphasis on their practical use in engineering. Each unit includes hands-on applications of management skills, equipping students with essential business leadership capabilities like cross-cultural collaboration, conflict resolution, and more. Students should expect to devote around 12–15 hours per week to their studies. You will develop a Professional Development Plan (PDP) as you progress throughout the course.

Students will take 180 credits and pay £8331 per 10 credits, and fees are paid per unit. The total cost of this 180 credit course is £14,9941 (£833 per 10 credit unit and two instalments of £2,499, paid 8 weeks apart for your 60 credit project). Each unit is 8 weeks in duration, and the units are run consecutively. The project can be taken over 3 months, 6 months or 12 months. A 10% alumni discount is available.

Qualifications

  • We may make an offer based on a lower grade if you can provide evidence of your suitability for the degree.

International students

  • If your first language is not English you will need IELTS with a grade of at least 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0 in any of the four parts (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
  • If your first language is not English and you’ve completed your degree in the UK within the last two years, you may be exempt from our English language requirements.

Dr Jana Sajdakova

Dr. Sajdakova obtained her PhD in Transdisciplinary Engineering from the University of Bath. Prior to her PhD, she completed a Master's degree in International Management at the University of the West of England.

Dr. Sajdakova's research interests focus on transdisciplinary engineering, future engineering skills, project participation, and boundary brokers. Some of her recent research explores ‘collaborations on large engineering projects to deliver societal value by integrating a range of disciplines’. This work aims to enhance the effectiveness of engineering project teams. Before joining academia, she spent 15 years working in the industry in various roles, gaining extensive practical experience.

This course is structured in two phases. In Phase One, you will progress through 12 comprehensive units, each focusing on key areas such as leadership, operations and supply chain management, strategic thinking, and project management. Through hands-on, skill-based coursework, you will analyse real-world case studies, enabling you to directly apply the concepts to a professional environment. You'll also develop key skills such as teamwork, communication, cross-cultural collaboration, conflict resolution, strategic feedback, business strategy, and organisational management.

The course concludes with Phase Two, the dissertation phase, where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate and apply the knowledge and skills you've gained by completing a project in engineering management.

Yes, there are short breaks in April, August, and December.

A 2:2 or above refers to the UK undergraduate degree classification system. A 2:2 (Lower Second Class Honours) is the minimum requirement for this postgraduate degree.
